Our Role
Comtra identifies and develops commercial opportunities at an early stage. Depending on the situation, our work may include shaping the proposition, assembling technical and operating partners, securing land or approvals, preparing investor materials, and coordinating introductions to the right capital and counterparties.
Our involvement varies. In some cases we make a single, well-placed introduction. In others, we are closely involved in building the opportunity from the ground up — and where that work creates meaningful value, we may hold equity or retain an interest in the outcome.
We define our role clearly at the outset of every engagement. Whether that is introduction, structuring, origination, or a combination — there is no ambiguity about where we sit or how we are compensated.

Agriculture & Aquaculture
Origination · Structuring · Capital raising
We develop the commercial framework around large-scale agricultural and aquaculture opportunities. Our work typically includes identifying land or site access, establishing offtake and commercial buyer relationships, engaging technical delivery and operating partners, and — where relevant — navigating government support and concession processes. We structure opportunities for investor participation, prepare proposals and supporting materials, and coordinate capital raising. Where our origination and structuring work is central to the project, we may retain equity or an interest in the outcome.
Data Centres & Site Infrastructure
Site origination · Structuring · Investor introductions
We work with specialist partners to identify land, progress power access, support planning and approvals, and prepare sites to a ready-to-build standard. Where appropriate, we structure opportunities into dedicated vehicles and position them for introduction to developers, operators, institutional investors, and — where relevant — sovereign or government-adjacent capital. We operate across multiple jurisdictions and focus on sites with genuine commercial readiness.
Fuel & Commodities
Selective introductions · Commercial coordination
We work with verified suppliers, refiners, and tier-one allocation holders alongside end-burners and direct purchasing entities across refined products and selected commodities. We do not work with casual intermediaries on either side. Our role is to bring serious parties together, establish commercial fit, and support the process through to execution where appropriate. We do not trade on our own account or participate as a funding party.
Energy & Power
Project origination · Structuring
Clean baseload, solar, and power-linked infrastructure — particularly where land, power, and capital need to be aligned for energy-intensive sites or standalone generation opportunities. We originate and structure in partnership with specialist implementation partners.
Shipping & Aviation
Sourcing · Introductions · Advisory
Vessel acquisition and charter, cargo leasing, and selected advisory work connected to aviation and specialist asset situations. We identify availability, confirm the standing of parties involved, and support direct engagement across international markets. Aviation-related advisory is supported through established external relationships.
Mining & Resources
Origination · Off-take introductions
Mining and rare earth projects with established geology and permitting. We introduce project owners to appropriate capital and off-take counterparts, and where the opportunity warrants it, assist in structuring for investor participation.
Strategic Advisory
Access to specialist government relations, issue advocacy, and strategic advisory capability through established external relationships, where relevant to a specific opportunity or engagement.
Consumer Ventures
Assembly and support of white-label consumer product platforms for creators, operators, and distribution partners. An area of current activity.
Separate Capability
Systematic Trading Infrastructure
Quantitative and algorithmic trading capability developed for internal use and limited institutional applications. Not a service offering. Available by direct conversation only.
How We Work
Origination
We identify opportunities through direct relationships and on-the-ground presence across multiple jurisdictions. We do not work from public listings or open-market information.
Structuring
We develop the commercial proposition — bringing in the right technical and operating partners, preparing materials, and ensuring the opportunity is clearly defined for the parties involved.
Introduction
We bring principals together with clarity about the opportunity, the proposed structure, and the rationale for the introduction. Every introduction is considered and specific.
Progression
Where our continued involvement is appropriate, we support capital raising, coordination between parties, and the practical work required to move a transaction forward. Scope is defined at the outset.
Principles
Nothing we work on is publicly marketed. Relationships are private and extended with care.
Every introduction is considered. We do not circulate unreviewed opportunities or make speculative introductions.
We prefer alignment to volume. A smaller number of well-matched parties consistently produces better results.
We are clear about our role in every engagement. Where we introduce, we say so. Where we are more closely involved, we make that plain from the start.
We work internationally, but only where we have genuine presence, relevant relationships, and something substantive to contribute.
